As all the annual and quarterly magazines start to hit the shelves I wanted to give you an update as to some great ones to keep an eye out for with local features!

Boston Weddings - just released and Taryn's Belle Mer Island House wedding was featured from this summer
NE Gala Weddings - just released with Ellen's Blithewold wedding from this past summer , along with lots of great featured solo shots!
SNEW Magazine - launches December 8th and will have plenty to enjoy in it!
The Bride & Bloom Magazine - Launches in the next month or so featuring Katie's Towers wedding from last September...

..and there will be many more so keep on the lookout! I'll post snippets from each as they release so that you can get a sneak peak too!

Ladies the [blog] has been broken since mid-Oct so I apologize for the anxiety it causes when you can't stalk it LOL .. but it's working which means I can post TONS of weddings now!!! Stay tuned for all the latest events!

Ever watch Lifetime Channel and catch an episode of Get Married TV?!

Well come early 2009 keep an eye out as we were recently interviewed in NYC by Get Married TV for episodes looking to air later this winter. How cool! We'll keep you ladies posted on when to watch but it was a fantastic experience... minus the headaches of what the heck to wear and who to pick as one of my "all time favorite wedding?!?!" That's right we were interviewed on the topics of "Must Have Pictures" that I would recommend to couples scouting out wedding photographers.. in which I shared 5 areas to focus on and styles of imagery that I'm personally drawn to during weddings, which make for captivating "Must Have" shots! Then for a 2nd segment we were asked to share one of my all time favorite weddings - which was so hard to narrow down!!! There have been so many of you over the years but I had to pick one.. and only one for which they'll be sharing images of on the TV show as I walk viewers through what made this particular event so memorable and a pure dream to photograph! The couple who's wedding I selected know who they are and I'm thrilled that their wedding images will be shared Nationally on Lifetime Network for other brides to draw inspiration from. We'll keep that a secret a while longer though as they'll be popping up on this blog in the coming weeks as their wedding was just a month ago.. so stay tuned!

Rita one of our FAB August Brides sent me an email recently telling me about these sweet little books she found online BLURB books.. much like the KOLO Digital ALbums I've posted about before they are digitally printed and you upload all your fun pics and make a layout - which in turn they publish into a bound book as a great holiday gift! The the holidays creeping up on us and the deadlines past for Queensberry Albums to be made I thought I'd share what she had found! Not to mention the really fun point is that Blurb loved Rita's book layout so much they requested that they be bale to use it for their trade-shows and marketing purposes! Sweet! We're BACK from Vegas! Had a BLAST .. our feet were especially happy to be modeling while we were there!

Off to Las Vegas! The studio will be closed July 5-12th while we're off to Vegas to WIN BIG! We'll have limited access to email (if any) so hang in there as we'll be back in the studio July 13th!

KOLO Album company launched a new digital album line that ROCKS! It's basically "do it yourself" by you upload the files online, place the images into a layout, and then they create it and ship it right to you! I was thrilled when I was approached a few months back by the designers at KOLO asking to use one of our weddings as a demo SAMPLE ALBUM! So exciting! More exciting was that they selected Deb & Marcus from last summer as the event to feature! In the back they even gave me a little BIO blurb which was very cool. Check it out!

So the suspense I hear is killing you ladies?! LOL I've had countless emails from brides telling me that they can't sleep waiting to see Semia George's Wedding on the [Blog]..you ladies are so funny! So I decided to tease you a little, as well I can! :)

Check our behind the scenes with Semia the Wednesday before her wedding day - designing her very own wedding bouqet! Her studio was PACKED with flowers for the big day .. I snuck into the cooler and felt like I was in Alice in Wonderland with a lush forest around me!

So we've survived another season of Bridal runways and the images are all off at The Bride & Bloom Magazine for the next 2 issues layouts.. but I wanted to post some sneak peaks of shows! I'll post a few pics from various designers so you can get a feel for the seasons trends!

We're back from Market Week NYC and had a blast - though exhausting! We shot non-stop and covered it all though still had a bit of time to catch up with friends.

1. Heads up!! On upcoming dates the Studio will be closed : April 11-20th As we'll be in NYC shooting the FALL 2008 BRIDAL MARKET shows, for The Bride and Bloom Magazine , as well as a few extra shoots that weekend. If you need me desperately (think about this long and hard - is it life and death?? do you really want to be that call that makes my phone ring during a runway show?? LOL ) Seriously, if you need me I'll have email & cell phone as always just be patient as it may take me longer to get back to you.

2. For couples looking to schedule your Engagement Sessions as the weather warms up - please email a few months ahead as we're already booked up on weekends through Mid-July. Mid-week sessions are always available so just shout when you'd like to start kicking around dates for those sessions. I still have a few random weekend dates here and there through the late summer and fall - just plan ahead before they're no longer available.

3. Last note!! As many of you have been asking for information on "boudoir photo sessions" this is a popular request and seeing as I like to do everything a bit more "funky" we do have one of the hottest backdrops and locations on reserve to shoot at [top secret - inquire for details] - so if interested let me know. Many times these sessions are done with groups so that ladies can share make-up and hair stylists to get the ultimate experience - all things I can help you set up. Just let me know if you're interested as we'll be trying to arrange one or two sessions this spring for anyone who'd like to participate.

A several month long project of ours to create an online NorthEast community for Brides! It's a Bridal Blog for gals to chat and share about their wedding planning, great ideas, inspirational tid-bits, pictures, and more! We have several real brides registered now to be celebrity "bloggers" and hoping to register several more over the coming months! Especially after all those surprise holiday engagements. :)

Brides can apply online to become Chatty Brides, so spread the word and enjoy the site! (we're still working on filling in some random galleries and content, so vendors too can feel free to submit for online content & credits!) We've had a BLAST creating this online community and are excited to have it open for brides to play wild now! HAVE FUN!

Hi ladies!

For those of you considering doing albums and wishing to have them by the holidays.. the final cut off date was issued today and I have to have final sign offs by October 20th! So all albums currently in design or awaiting confirmations will be shipped before the holidays as long as you have confirmed sign offs with me by the 20th. All other albums will be put through production and shipped upon the companies return in January.. so we'd expect them by the end of the month or in early Feb. Keep this all in mind as right now realistically anyone wishing to have an album for the holidays would have to get me all their imagery lists and swatch pics by Oct 9th the latest so I can get the design in gear and everything to Queensberry in time for approvals still..

We know you're out there.. and we know you all stalk [the blog] ... so we thought it would be fun to have one of you're own to stalk each other.. as strange as that may seem :) You know you want to!

We're BACK! The studio is officially open again and I'm back to processing weddings, etc! We figured we'd post a few pics from the trip to Sin City though as we were out there along with "Tanya & Gene" our "unofficial spokes couple" ... playing but also shooting.. so here's some behind the scenes shots from the trip as I'm not going to post the final shots from our shoot till they're published :) So this is a teaser :)

That's right this is a totally unrelated non-wedding entry! Well sorta... Harley Spencer (our 8 yr old Black Lab/Whippet) is pathetic!

Does your dog experience "happy tail"?!?! Yeah, I rolled my eyes too! Dogs wag their tails.. but sometimes they wag too much because they are just SOOOO excited. Harley suffered the wrath of "happy tail" during one of her recent wedding "spa stays" when we're out of town. Bummer! "Happy Tail" is NOT a happy occurance in some instances... she's here to show you how it can go so terribly wrong! ha ha ha... our dog looks ridiculous!!!!

Check it out.. she's now stuck with a "hood" and a shaved tail as she's harmed her tail so badly now and will be forced to have 24 hr supervision with her fashionable hood for the next 10 days!!

Do you think she hates us? Maybe only when I laughed at her while I was taking these :)

So we couldn't do what we do and capture the incredible moments and memories if it weren't for you ladies inviting us into your day and lives.. so thank you for that as much as this cool "award". I can't wait till we start blogging all the new 2007 couples and the exciting and fun imagery we'll capture this year with you all! So thanks again!! Love you all!!

Queensberry Albums has issued a price increase for the first time in the last 5 yrs, this increase is based on the currency exchange rates that have risen making it a needed materials cost increase for their company. Needless to say we've had to adjust our album pricing for Albums contracted after May 25, 2007 to balance out adjustments as well.

Channel 10 NBC airing April 7th between 9:00-10am they will be running the feature segment spotlight they filmed here in the studio back in Feb of this year.

Now keep in mind that I was in the midst of the flu and probably look and sound very ill, go figure! Hoping some of you get a chance to check it out .. I'll be curled up on the sofa hiding behind a pillow trying to watch myself.... very strange feeling to see myself on tv.. ekkk!!!

Tanya has been such a sport this past year being my model for my 2007 ad, having a fun Boston Black Tie engagement session.. and AWESOME New Years Eve wedding.. she's truly Hollywood Glam!! ... and then I was in Tanya withdrawal .. until this past weekend!! When the DRESS came out to play!

Tanya we just need to keep coming up with new outfits to shoot, guess that means we MUST go shopping, so I don't ever go into withdrawal again!! :)

Hey ladies!!! That's right .. we've bumped the party up this year yet again and it's one month earlier! We've picked a date this wednesday April 11th and hope you can all come... That's right.. after weeks of renovations and a years worth of planning it's DONE!!! NBC 10 was here filming for their wedding specials segment this past Tuesday (which will be airing in the month of April) so we were under a deadline for those pesky renovations.. and many brides have come through to witness the mess in various stages.. so thank you all for your patience!! But we're done!!! Which means we're back to work and enjoying the new space so if you need us we're here!! I've posted some pics below for you to see the final stages of the renovations.. and I posted the link HERE as well for the last update if you want to see the "before pics" again :)

In case you're wondering too .. no I haven't changed the name of our business :) "Studio Pear" is the name of the studio space itself and our fashion studio.. The name came from my grandfather, for those who are curious as his name was Per Roland Hanson and he's very much behind our new studio and helping make it all finally come together :) So you'll see both when you come visit us next!

AND Semia "Flowers by Semia" did an incredible job with all our floral decor!!! It completely pulled the space together!! I felt like a happy bride myself almost as I watched her unpacking all her amazing installations!! LOVE THEM!!!

Soooo something a little different to add inspiration to your wedding planning! Steven James at The Providence Biltmore designed an event "Ally in Wonderland Sweet 16" Feb 2, 2007... it was INCREDIBLE! It was Steven's premier introduction into event design and he did an absolutely over the top insane job!! He had hired RI Photobooths to be at the event and then asked me to shoot the event for the Biltmore's Design portfolio.. so I happily did as it was fun seeing some new ideas.

Now seriously can I pretend I'm 16 again!!!

The entire event was an Alice in Wonderland theme for "Ally" and they went over the top on design!

-NYC Dj was transported in
-INSANE lighting
-RI Photobooths
-lounge furniture
-Actors playing the parts of the story "Alice in Wonderland"
-CONFETTI !!!
etc , etc, etc .. well take and look you'll get an idea! But if you're a Biltmore Bride and need any ideas... hiring Steven to plan the decor is up there on my list!!

..and those of you considering lighting for your events..I always say go for it if you can.... IT CHANGES ANY VENUE... so check it out as it really makes for incredible imagery!!

Sooo.. I know you all were aware of our studio planning months ago.. which fell through as the building never got it's occupancy certificates in time .. however we found another INCREDIBLE space that is SOOO much better!! I'm really excited as the new space is BIGGER , BRIGHTER.. and just around the corner from our Loft Condo so that it's an easy drive or walk for me! It's a great space though and we're moving in this weekend! Actually officially I've been slowly moving over the last week but today started assembling desks, etc.

Anyways, I'll post pics as soon as we're settled and and it's all set up .. as well as a few from the construction process... but if you're looking for me over the next week email or call as I will have access to my laptop and phone.. but all processing and album design has been closed now through next week as we have boxed up all the computers for the move. Can't wait to show off the new space and for everyone to come visit us!

Hi Ladies! Soo had been keeping this update for a raining day blog... but we're really excited to say that NBC Channel 10 will be filming a feature wedding segment on US!! It will run as one of the Saturday morning special segments .. we'll keep you posted once we find out the date it will actually air but I believe it'll air in March! SO we'll keep you posted so you can check it out.. but for those of you who might miss it or can't see it since you're out of state.. we'll post a video clip once I get those files too!

They're filming Feb 13th... so exciting.. they'll be interviewing us, showing samples, highlighting the studio features, as well as we'll be having a guest with us.. Merrie "Benoit" who was married at Castle HIll this past Sept 1st 2006.. she'll be joining us for the filming as we've got her wrapped up in becoming a "celebrity bride" ha ha YAY!

Hi Ladies! Well being in one of the countries leading destination wedding areas.. our brides 75% of the time are from out of state.. planning from a distance and traveling here for their special days.. this year though we've been taking on more national destination events that will be taking us across the country to travel with couples.. how fun! For example we have Hillary & Jake in Beaver Creek Colorado in March .. so looking forward to those snow angels you'll be making Hillary!! ha ha.. and then just a few weeks later we'll be running down the beaches after Erica and Eddie in Turks and Caicos Islands.. so after the next few months of winter weddings we'll bring you guys some fun imagery from abroad too. So to welcome all the traveling we're taking on we've launched a new site.. well.. it's under construction.. but it's coming along soon enough! :) I always wanted to be my own animated character!! So keep an eye out for the new site that will have us running through airports to bring back some incredible imagery from all over the world!
