Bridget & Bryan ~ The Sullivan House - Block Island 9-6-08

Wow was it a rough September for Block Island weddings! We had 3 fabulous couples getting married on Block Island in September and each one had weather to share stories of. Bridget & Bryan may not have had great weather but in the midst of hurricane winds, the ferry being shut down trapping us all, the Coast Guard threatening to break down their tent and forcing the wedding to be bumped up several hours...FYI the tent was flooded too, and everything else around them moving high speed.. Bridget and Bryan were calm, relaxed and just full of smiles... HOW INCREDIBLE! They took it all in, went with the flow/floods LOL, and just enjoyed every minute of the day....if only EVERY bride could be as calm as Bridget in such a situation - Bridget - YOU'RE A KEEPER FOR SURE!

So by bumping the wedding up several hours we were able to take advantage of the sun and had a fantastic time!

Edna .. I know it's been killing you waiting for this [blog] moment!! It's YOUR TIME!!! Edna and Jim - awesome & perfectly paired couple.. they had such a classy chic wedding day and after the month of struggles leading up to the day of - it all worked out seamlessly!!! You'd hardly ever even know that one month prior Jim was in an awful motorcycle accident in Boston.. but with a smile and a snazzy set of black braces he pulled off the flawless day as the perfect groom - Congratulations Edna and Jim on an incredible day and new beginning TOGETHER!!!

Casey & Jamie ~ Private Newport Venue 8-9-08

Casey & Jamie LUCKED out when they discovered this hidden GEM in Newport - which will remain "nameless" as it was part of the deal - I can't disclose the name or an actual picture of the outside either - so cool! Besides having this cool "oh so secretive and elite" venue to hide.. the wedding was a blast! Completely Casey & Jamie!!! Fun details.. just their expressions were priceless all day .. Jamie is so sweet on Casey and it was so much fun watching his glances at her all day :) Check it out though! - oh and if you email me to ask me where it was ... I still can't tell you :)

..though I know I'll still get those emails LOL

ohhh and one more tid-bit Jamie found this incredible company in NYC that makes custom ties!!! How cool!! ohhhh and the cake... Casey I have to show pics of the cake!! Jamie was "somewhat" responsible for the cake... you'll get a chuckle when you see it, Casey looked a wee bit in shock when she saw what was perched on top - but it really was UNIQUE.. and kinda funny!!

Glamour, Elegance...+ Morgan and Michael = FUN! We had such a BLAST with these guys and their families - there was more then enough energy to go around to keep the dance floor hopping and the pictures bright and spunky! From the Vera Wang gown to the insane cake - gorgeous flower girl & ring bearer - the fabulous lush colors and accents... ohh the color!!!! Aimee - YOU'RE MARRIED!! All morning on June 1st Aimee kept exclaiming " I'm GETTING MARRIED!" .. and the energy she had that morning kept she and Michael giggling and bouncing around all day! Aimee had a really fun and unusual theme to the wedding too - though very appropriate for the year...being that it's and Election Year! A mix of Republican and Democrat details, argyle and tones of pink and green were carried throughout all the decor and designs..so fitting seeing as both bride & groom are in politics-though on opposite sides! Even the Photobooth came in handy as a "Voting Booth"!

Smith-Appleby House was a gem in the woods of RI...barns, a stream & pond, bridges and rustic backdrops, which made for the ultimate setting for Tara and Matthew's "handmade" wedding. Tea lights in jam jars were strung from the tent, luminaries lined the stonewalls and steps, hand-painted wedding to show the way.. and one of the sweetest couples! I may go a bit crazy here with pictures as I had such a blast!

So we had a first with Paula and James, the bus broke down on the way to the reception - but I have to say that Paula couldn't have handled it ANY BETTER! She was smiling, trying to thumb a ride from jamestown and just went with the flow. They are a SWEET couple.. and Paula is full of energy.. I think she was on the dance floor all night! Aside from the travel the day was incredible- perfect weather and Regatta Place was the perfect place to party through the evening!

IT'S THAT TIME LADIES!!!!!!

Semia & Matt - what can I say, we love you both and were THRILLED beyond words to be part of your day :) I do seriously believe I was more nervous then Semia though as I watched one of my dearest friends get all dolled up - it felt surreal to me...Semia in a wedding dress - looking SO SO Glamourous! It was meant to be - the couple.. and the day. Semia may have had to wait "forever" for her bling bling .. but she and Matt and been together since High School.. THANK GOD MATT FINALLY ASKED - it was killing us :) Thank you Matt - for making "blondie" your wife!


..now about the wedding.... words can't even explain the enchanted feel. Semia looked beyond gorgeous in her Monique Lhuillier gown - a blushing bride her her blush gown! Of course the flowers were all insane - trees on tables, tables made out of trees and moss, the swanky lounge.. it all screamed Semia.. and OF COURSE so did the bouqet!

Blues & pinks, tan suits - orchids in the hair... Lindsay had designed herself a tropical day on Narragansett Beach. Lindsay and Mario are one of the COOLEST couples of the year, with their antique Aqua Chevy and stylish attire, and win as one of the cutest families with little Mario... running down the beach in his Cow suit! LOVE THEM!

Chilly temps haven't stopped our winter brides from having fun and GORGEOUS weddings!! The day began with the glamorous pre-bridal backdrop of The Chanler at Cliffwalk.. and then took the bridal party and guests to Belle Mer where Jenifer and David had a stylish ceremony in the ballroom. Hints of red & green, and pearls spread across the white backdrops... custom glass water bottles designed with the couples name and date were placed out as favors along with a single red rose at every guests seat. The entire wedding party and guests as well had a BASH!

Brrrrrrrrr...could you have picked a colder Day Erin?!??! Thank goodness your mother brought the coffee from Panama to warm everyone up!

Winter weddings are so fun, well minus the freezing NE weather! Both Erin and I were turning purple but she was a trooper to get some outside shots at Rosecliff Mansion. Not to mention their guests were greeted with warmed cider and the warm ambiance of the mansion. Paired with the sweet couple, supportive friends and family...and TONS of dancing they had a warm and cozy event!

Jo-an & Andy ~ Oceancliff Resort 9-29-07

What and perfect day!!! No rain but you had the best place ever to hide should you have needed it, perfect company, beautiful colors.. and such loving families!! You guys were a BLAST! Can we do it again?!?! :)

Funny side story - it's rather appropriate that Jo-an and Andy are the last wedding [blog] before I post the runways from NYC up here.. as I typically ask brides what their dress looks like during our consultations.. and girls usually dance around the descriptions so that they don't give anything too big away to the guys... WELL.. Jo-an had started basically telling me when she got all excited and pointed to a poster in my studio I had shot at the runways of HER GOWN.. this was followed by a GASP as she realized Andy could now see the gown so I quickly had to jump to hide the image and keep Andy from seeing the big surprise!! Hers was by far one of my favorites from that season of the Platinum for Priscilla of Boston line!! Loved the layering!!!

Katie & Mark ~ The Towers 9-16-07

Katie & Mark.... WOW!!! Katie has not only won us over for life with her holiday care packages but with the creative details and fun day they planned for their families! Vibrant colors, emotions, FUN food!!! .. and clever designs and favors-!! When we arrived at The Towers I had noticed down the beach a carnival.. after "half jokingly" mentioning it to Katie and getting the thumbs up .. I went to find out what time it closed so we could explore it for pictures...sadly it closed at the exact time Katie and Mark said their "i do's" .. so we thought there would be no way we could play.. till Jared went down to find carnies' dismantling rides and packing up.. but the lights were still on!!! So we kidnapped our couple and went and entertained the men packing up the rides.. and I'm so glad we did!! What fun pics!! Thanks for letting me play guys!!!

Gina & Paul ~ WV Inn 9-15-07

You guys are a RIOT!!!

Gina and Paul are SO FULL OF ENERGY!!! I mentioned in their engagement post that they were literally off the walls!! Well... we had no walls but did they PLAY!! The colors were BRIGHT! Gina wanted no white.. well minus her dress :) So there were bursts of color everywhere you looked.. and for the break between ceremony and reception.. we played all over RI.. in fields, ruins of old farms, the state house... OH DID THEY PLAY!!! I'm surprised they had enough energy to keep it going at the reception with all the dancing.. Gina and Paul are both skilled dancers.. and they kept the dance floor alive all night long!!

The WEDDING DAY!!!! From the vibrant blues and reds, the funky feather shoes, bird cage veil, compass place card favors, a rose for every lady at the ceremony... to the treasure chest invitations and origami sail-boat save the dates!! ... Was there anything they didn't think of?! ... yes their was a candy bar.. the candy bar of ALL candy bars to be fair :) OH and to top it all off!!! Their first dance intro was choreographed and had a needed wardrobe change!! Too fun! You have to check below to see what I mean!!

Karen & Tom ~ Fort Adams Rehearsal Dinner 9-7-07

It was a wedding packed weekend with Karen & Tom.. the Rehearsal Day & Party followed by an incredible wedding!! They're a REALLY outgoing, fun, creative couple and just a BLAST to hang out with!! Karen tried bolting from the aisle, Tom looked a little nervous.. and then as they gave out wedding gifts Karen had mentioned how she's love "2 Karat diamond ear-rings" .. well SHE GOT THEM!! Kelly & Mark ~ Astors Beechwood 9-2-07

Kelly.. you seriously need a leash for Mark!!! He's OFF THE WALLS!!! However.. he's so much fun to know and watch.. and you two are meant to be.. your vows were the sweetest I've ever heard!!

So Kelly & Mark were married at Astors... on THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND.....oh no!! and lesson learned for all getting married labor day weekend.... there's a TON of traffic in newport!! Their ceremony was delayed almost an hour waiting for everyone to get through the traffic.. but once they all did everyone made up for the time lost with the energy and excitement that filled the venue!!

It was an absolutely perfect ending to a wedding packed weekend... the sunset, the view, the design.. the couple!! Regatta Place is a fun little hidden venue in Newport.... and one of the few.. that's actually ON THE WATER!! All evening GIANT Yachts were docking and creating the most incredible backdrop behind the tent and dancing.. it really was a STUNNING DAY Leslie!!! Congrats guys!!

Well... I'm so THRILLED that Jared and I could play a part in Mia and Jarrod's wedding!! It was such a fun day.. though VERY MISTY.. Sarah & Andrew ~ Newport RI 8-7-07

Have you ever wished you had eloped? ...or thought about it??? You know when your family sits you down for the $$ VS wedding talk??

Sarah and Andrew.... went for the eloping option! They're from Ohio and basically wanted to try someplace new, along the rocky coast and they had never been to New England, so Newport became the ultimate destination! I remember getting her email saying they could do it mid-week and in August and asking if I was up for it and my deal breaker was wanting to know if I could be their witness.. and I was! Well along with some other random guy we picked up at Brenton Point :) When the priest went towards this one fellow to ask him, mind you he had no shirt on and a flat top + cigar.. and Sarah noticed the "oh please don't let it be him" expression on my face.. but thankfully he put his shirt on for the big day! YAY!

Anyways, Sarah and Andrew are AWESOME.. they ROCK! I loved them, the plan for the day, hanging out with them and giving them the grand Newport tour.. and I adored her bouqet!!! okay Semia ROCKS TOO!! It was STUNNING!!! I'm all about color but the mono-chromatic bouqets especially in green are just so beautiful against all backdrops.. I had so much fun playing with it! .. so here we go lots of pics!!

COLOR COLOR COLOR!!!!!!! I swear EVERYTHING popped!!! Ellen and Chris had wanted to escape to a tropical island and get married at sunset... but that wasn't exactly what happened.. instead their families made the sunset come to them in Bristol, through the vibrant colors, flowers, and overall feel of the day.. now there was one little uninvited visitor at the ceremony, a raccoon, but other then that the day was INCREDIBLE and they were a BLAST to capture!!

So Jenny is one of those brides that has been around for a while and booked us before ever meeting us, as she was planning everything from out of state.. but we clicked right away and she trusted my recommendations and their wedding was gorgeous!! The flowers, band, everything! .. ohh and her gown.. Monique Lhuillier... love the sashes!!!! She and Darin though have been together since high school, very cool, and they are so sweet with one another.. you could just tell how giddy he was to marry her, as she walked down the aisle and he laughed and cried... you guys are perfect for one another! .. and I had SO MUCH FUN capturing all your day for you to remember.. Sandra & Mark ~ Belle Mer 7-8-07

A perfect day! Well , perhaps minus the fact that we were in fact pulled over, for running a stop sign, on the way back to Belle Mer to their ceremony! Awk! Sandra remained calm behind us while I flipped out ready to take on the local police for making her wait! .. thank goodness I was seat belted in so I remained strapped down to my seat :) Sandra and MArk though had a beautiful day and just loads of fun with friends and family who had traveled from NYC & all over the world to be a part of their celebration! Congrats to you both, you really do compliment one another perfectly and were so enjoyable to watch throughout the day! .. I loved the simplistic design & decor of the day!

7-7-07 The biggest wedding day of the year! I think we had 25+ inquiries for the date and we were so excited to have been invited by Michelle and Brad to be a part of their day! They were the first to inquire and I was so excited as I would have been disappointed to have missed their day! Michelle.. you're so classic! You guys were such a pleasure to get to know and I've been dying to blog your day so here we go!!

I do have to say that we had a "first" at Michelle & Brad's wedding.. never before have I seen a groom so attentive as to spend the time cutting all the tulle from beneath a gown so his bride could dance the night away.. too funny! A fun & stylish affair all in Black/White and Red! The floral design and decor was really funky and fun, love the Tuscan style seating and the gown on Leigh!! Vera Wang with a big Black Bow... STUNNING! I was so excited to see her dress and then when I did I was even more so having shot it last August for the Southern NE Fashion spread.. I had always hoped to see it again .. and I DID!! Catherine & Mark ~ Astors Beechwood 6-22-07

Graceful, stylish, sophisticated, creative, elegant.... the kind of bride Catherine was alongside Mark. They picked one of the most beautiful sites, paired with their own personal design touches and had a memorable day with their fiends and family. I'm still left stunned as Catherine had made her own designs come to life in her one of a kind wedding gown... which was perfectly her! Now there was a scary skyline as we watched the clouds roll in moments before their ceremony however the Astors Porch made for a cozy backup plan, until the sun came out again! ... and the BEST part was there was a rainbow above them as they kissed during their ceremony!!

Deb & Marcus ~ Horseneck Holy Ghost Grounds 6-16-07

Deb & Marcus... have to be one of the coolest couples I've ever met! They REALLY put their personal twists on their wedding day plans. How can I explain.... okay Deb was .. what was it an hour late to the ceremony?!? ha ha But that was okay as everyone knew she would be and there was plenty of music to hear and socializing to be done, and Marcus took it very well :) They had a Quaker moment of silence, and having been through Quaker school myself, yes I know a shocker, a "Quaker moment of silence" is more like 5-10! Ohh and Deb was even written up in the paper for her twist on floral decor, as they hand picked everything! The whole day was just so relaxing as their friends played frisbee, set up tents and fires, and enjoyed the Bar-B-Q and ice cream bar.. not to mention the great musical performance by the many musicians including Marcus himself , who's INCREDIBLE!!!!!!


And on a side note.. I think this is one of my all time favorite wedding shots.. I call it "BUG ZAPPER!" .. he he he.. okay having too much fun with this. Back to work!

Lisa & Teddy ~ The Glen Manor 6-9-07

That's right we should have had a sleep over at the Glen that weekend! Lisa & Teddy.. hmmm... snazzy tie Teddy! Sooo apparently Teddy's tie , fun fact, is the NEW "striped tie" .. you know that hot pink one that EVERYONE emails me about on the website.. well Teddy went to such lengths to try and find THAT tie.. and alas they no longer make it.. but this is the new version!! So THANK GOODNESS Teddy had it! .. and it even matched their fun colors! .. and I'd like to add that the key place cards was the coolest thing ever!! Click "read more" to see what I'm talking about!! They thought it would be cute to get a shot of all 3 sisters in their gowns now that Lisa was the last to be married.. it was a little trippy walking out across the lawn with 3 brides following me! Sun - July 1, 2007

Roopali & Peter ~ Castle Hill , Ipswich Ma 6-2-07

WOW!! STUNNING!!! The day, the details, the couple.. I've never run around so much in one day for a wedding.. I seriously crashed the next day as if I had done 10! However considering they had 2 ceremonies, 2 pre-bridals, lots of cultural traditions, the most humid day ever.. followed by perfectly timed rain-storms.. and then a fantastic power outage that lasted through the evening to make the night particularly memorable with all the candle light... it was all fantastic!!

With family & friends from around the world Nevis & Joe celebrated their day with such grace! I'm particularly impressed with how Nevis handled her wedding gown being destroyed just 3 days before the wedding.. and how PERFECT her last minute gown was!! It was YOU Nevis!! It really was :) Everything happens for a reason and that gown was meant to be yours!

Now Nevis called me the other day after getting her proofing, in tears she claimed from how excited she was to see her pictures... and in the end she had me in tears as she was so sweet and as much as you may all appreciate having us their to capture your days.. it means so much to me to be there too!! Shannon and Kevin are so FUN! I swear they never stop laughing or smiling when they're together! I know I say all our couples are "fun" but you all are.. that's why we get such fun imagery! :)

Kevin is Irish.. so the theme for the wedding was simple...newport seaside details paired with Irish music, culture & colors! There was an abundance of green, lots of laughter, shells and flip flops, custom wine bottles and even some Irish dancers! All kinds of fun details to make the event even more memorable for all! Sara & Andy ~ Saint Clements Castle, CT 5-18-07

Congrats Sara & Andy!! I'm so thrilled to finally get their wedding online.. what a fun bunch! We did Sara's sister Lindsay's wedding last September so it was fun seeing the whole family again! Check it out they had their reception at Saint Clements Castle in Portland, CT which has the most beautiful grounds! They had actually just had a Wedding Style Magazine shoot their so we took advantage of some "twinkle lights" they still had up from the shoot.. to get some fun shots! Thank goodness we did that before they took them down! :) I'm so bummed that Sara & Lindsay have no more siblings.. what will we do now?!?
